JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Operations Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring precise financial oversight and reporting of operational activities. This position involves the meticulous tracking, analysis, and reporting of financial data associated with exploration, production, and distribution operations.
This role is suited for a seasoned expert who leverages advanced knowledge to meet operational objectives. The individual will work autonomously with minimal supervision and may lead projects aimed at enhancing efficiency. Additionally, this role may involve mentoring and reviewing the contributions of junior staff members. Challenges encountered are often complex and require a high level of problem-solving. The candidate must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and transparency while upholding the standards and values of The Ladders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Senior Operations Accountant include:
- Monitoring and reconciling financial transactions related to operations in accordance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Managing the general ledger for operational accounts, which includes journal entries, account reconciliations, and comprehensive analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Coordinating the consolidation of financial statements across various business units or subsidiaries.
- Assisting in the formulation of annual budgets and forecasts pertaining to operational activities.
- Evaluating operational performance, assessing profitability, return on investment, and cost-effectiveness, while providing recommendations for business enhancements and cost efficiencies.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure precise allocation of expenses and revenues, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Developing and implementing internal control measures to guarantee accuracy, integrity, and adherence to financial policies and regulations, including conducting periodic audits and reviews.
- Supporting external audits and liaising with auditors to furnish necessary documentation and information, as well as assisting in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures for external reporting.
- Potentially guiding other accountants and spearheading initiatives to refine policies, processes, and systems.
- Staying informed about relevant accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Performing additional duties as required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
