Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Supervisor to join our Facilities Management and Campus Operations team at Brown University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with codes, department instructions, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance workers
  • Assign, lay out, and supervise work to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Make accurate labor and material cost estimates
  • Analyze maintenance, repair, and construction data to identify areas for improvement
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the work of others
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes
  • Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives and projects
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 7 years of experience, with at least 5 years managing staff
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials of the trade
  • Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of HVAC systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to foster a collaborative, team-centered environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to perform physical activities that require frequent talking, hearing, seeing, color identification, reading, and writing. The position is classified as on-site.
