We are seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for customer service to become a part of our organization. The Member Relationship Officer will play a crucial role in understanding and addressing our members' financial needs through comprehensive assessments and tailored recommendations for products and services that align with their short-term and long-term financial objectives. This position involves fostering new connections, nurturing existing relationships, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all members.

Sales and Business Development:
  • Strong negotiation, sales, and relationship-building abilities are essential.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, pipeline development, and closing sales opportunities.
  • Identify, recommend, and promote suitable GTE Financial products and services to cultivate engaged financial relationships.
  • Attract new members through various channels to support the credit union's growth.
  • Collaborate within a team to create retention strategies for both new and existing members.
  • Generate referrals for credit union services, including:
    • Investment
    • Insurance
    • Business Services
    • Mortgages
Experience:
  • Strong negotiation, sales, and relationship-building skills are crucial.
  • Proven track record in prospecting, pipeline management, and advancing sales opportunities.
  • Professional demeanor with colleagues to foster a proactive team environment.
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Manage the sales floor by welcoming members, directing them appropriately, and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Collect information, analyze facts, and educate members on suitable products/services for effective resolution.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in evaluating loan applications through thorough review and underwriting.
  • Adhere to audit and compliance protocols while delivering the highest level of service to our members.
  • Identify potential risks for credit union losses through vigilant observation of transactions.
  • Collaborate with Community Development Officers to strengthen relationships within the community and with partner organizations.
  • Conduct member financial transactions, including originating, processing, and closing consumer loan products.
  • Assist with mortgages by identifying suitable products for member needs, initiating processes, and coordinating with internal partners for a seamless experience.
  • Comply with credit union guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations and security standards.
  • Ensure completion of regulatory compliance and training specific to sales and service responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous education for personal growth and improved member service.
  • Participate in assigned meetings, conference calls, and events.
  • Possess functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other relevant federal laws.
  • Meet qualifications for NMLS registration in accordance with the Safe Act.
Position Overview:
  • Location: Community Financial Center
  • Hours: Monday - Friday (9:00 am to 6:00 pm)
This role requires full-time hours, with additional time as needed to meet objectives and complete projects.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution; some college preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the financial industry or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred.
