As a Radiology Specialist, your role will involve:
Conducting radiological examinations and procedures for patients across all age groups.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Performing general radiology, portable imaging, and fluoroscopic examinations.

Assisting in the scheduling of patient appointments for procedures.

Providing education to patients about the procedures, equipment, and examinations to ensure their comfort and understanding.

Documenting and reporting any equipment malfunctions to management.

The Ideal Candidate will possess:
Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT).

A valid Basic Life Support certification.

Strong communication skills.

A solid understanding of human anatomy.

The ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in high-pressure situations.

This position may include a sign-on bonus.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with shifts from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Job Duties:
Adjusting and operating sophisticated electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for imaging and fluoroscopic assessments.

Preparing and positioning patients prior to procedures to ensure their safety and to obtain accurate diagnostic results.

Calculating and selecting the appropriate equipment and technical parameters, including the correct type of film and the necessary kilovolts or milliamperes.

Adhering to radiation safety protocols.

Maintaining all equipment in working order and reporting any issues or required adjustments to the appropriate personnel.

Assisting in keeping the radiology area clean and sanitary.

Instructing various hospital staff on radiology techniques and procedures as needed, including Radiation Safety.

Staying updated on advancements in the field by reviewing relevant literature and attending educational programs.

Consistently striving to anticipate and exceed the needs and expectations of our patients.

Accurately evaluating requisitions, including identifying the patient and the procedure to be performed, and documenting each treatment.

Complying with all Radiology information system entry requirements for accurate tracking of patients, films, and supplies.

Supporting the Radiologic student program, particularly in the clinical aspect, by providing supervision and feedback to students during procedures and conducting quarterly evaluations for formal reviews.

Performing other assigned duties as necessary.

Adhering to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, with particular attention to attendance, confidentiality, dress code, and safety protocols.

Completing mandatory training and education to maintain specific competencies and requirements.

Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Certifications Required:
Registered Radiographer (R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Current state license in Radiology.

BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Complexity of Work:
Maintaining competencies specific to the patient population served.

Work Experience:
Preferred experience in the field.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Capability to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weights and to manipulate equipment on a daily basis.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhering to Standard Precautions by using personal protective equipment as required.
