Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a key member of our medical imaging team, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound diagnostic equipment to produce high-quality images of heart structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain pertinent patient information and explain the purpose and duration of testing to patients
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce images of heart structures
  • Review results and prepare reports for physician review
  • Confer with patients and/or family members to gather pertinent patient information
  • Explain diagnostic procedures and answer questions from patients and/or family members
  • Measure and record different dimensions of heart structures using calipers
  • Maintain equipment in clean and proper working order
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Echocardiography or Allied Health program
  • Registered or Registry Eligible Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of Echocardiography work experience
