Data Center Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Industrial Staffing Inc. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing data center equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and terminate fiber optic cables
  • Manage and label cable infrastructure
  • Rack and stack customer equipment
  • Install fiber tray, ladder rack, and customer equipment
  • Perform infrastructure installs, including cable management and fiber tray systems
  • Receive and assemble materials
  • Install outside plant (OSP) infrastructure, including running fiber into data centers
  • Read and follow blueprints for installation
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 0-2 years of Data Center Technician experience
  • Active OSHA 10 certification preferred
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work on a ladder and/or scissor lift, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds.

Ability to work on your feet for entire shift.

Tools:

Basic hand tools, including screwdriver, tape measure, snips, pliers, punch down tool, flashlight, work boots, gloves, and tool pouch.
