About the Team

The Search team is integral to Workday's enterprise technology framework, tackling complex search challenges across extensive datasets. We enhance the search capabilities throughout the Workday application ecosystem, focusing on data normalization, search relevance, recommendation systems, and machine learning, all aimed at making cloud-based enterprise solutions more intuitive. The work we do is both stimulating and fulfilling.

About the Role

We are on the lookout for a driven Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will collaborate with experts in building search and machine learning-driven predictive data functionalities within Workday applications.

About You

Basic Qualifications

Senior Software Development Engineer

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering
    • Familiarity with large codebases and continuous integration practices
    • Experience in distributed backend systems engineering using languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Golang, or similar

Software Development Engineer

  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience
    • Proficiency in working with large codebases and continuous integration methodologies
    • Background in distributed backend systems engineering with languages like Java, Scala, Python, Golang, or similar
Other Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr, MongoDB, or similar
  • Knowledge of query processing
  • Proficiency with Linux command line
  • Understanding of SQL and distributed data processing
  • Familiarity with SaaS applications and microservices is a plus

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The salary ranges for this position are based on location and experience. As part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for bonuses and stock grants. Compensation offers will consider various factors including geography, experience, skills, job responsibilities, and business needs.
