Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Staff Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting with credentialing and medical staff duties in alignment with the scope of practice and the overall plan of care at Rose Medical Center. This role involves coordinating and documenting all medical staff department activities to ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws and applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with credentialing and privileging activities for medical staff appointments and reappointments.
  • Manage departmental secretary duties, including handling provider badge functions, document management, and addressing inquiries.
  • Maintain organization and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Analyze and audit compliance with submitted medical staff documents.
  • Prepare credentialing documents, meeting minutes, and maintain calendars with high attention to detail.
  • Communicate information clearly and effectively to all levels of management.
  • Foster productive work relationships with medical staff leaders.
  • Demonstrate a strong appreciation for accuracy in all tasks.
  • Possess working knowledge of TJC and medical terminology.
  • Exhibit advanced computer skills in Outlook, Excel, Adobe, and Word.
Qualifications
  • Preferred: CMSC or CPCS certification; NAMSS/CAMSS membership.
  • Required: Associate's Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred, with coursework in Business or Communications.
  • Experience in hospital medical staff credentialing and privileging is required, along with a successful track record of working autonomously.
  • Exposure to group communication dynamics and meeting documentation is expected.
  • Four years of Executive Secretarial experience, with at least one year in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
  • Medical Staff Office experience is strongly preferred.
