Denver, Colorado, United States Regional Transportation District Full time

At Regional Transportation District (RTD), we're committed to making lives better through connections. As a key member of our team, you'll be part of a dedicated group of employees who embody RTD's values of passion, respect, diversity, trustworthiness, collaboration, and ownership.

We're an inclusive and diverse workplace, and we encourage our employees to honor diversity in thought, people, and experience. Our goal is to be the trusted leader in mobility, delivering excellence and value to our customers and community.

This role is a safety-sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the RTD drug and alcohol policy. You'll be responsible for maintaining day-to-day bus operation schedules for RTD and initiating and responding to radio/phone calls to and from bus operators, street supervisors, private contractors, and maintenance personnel.

As a key member of our team, you'll direct activities of bus operators while on route and respond to changing needs of RTD and private contractor bus operations regarding coverage of operations such as emergency situations, bus replacement and repair, re-routing of buses, delays in service, and detours.

You'll also coordinate with internal departments and external entities regarding incidents, accidents, emergencies, road conditions, adverse weather, detours, service disruptions, schedule changes, and other emergent issues.

Key responsibilities include accurately recording and maintaining events and activities in the CAD/AVL system, facilitating communication with bus operators, various command centers, call centers, emergency responders, street operations staff, and other internal/external partners to ensure efficient and reliable bus operations.

You'll also monitor bus operations via CAD-AVL system to ensure safety, reliability, scheduling, and performance of bus operations, coordinate extra service, bus bridges, bus respacing, special events, and other projects as assigned, and perform station starter duties as needed.

We're looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in transportation operations, dispatching, or a related field. You'll have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year dispatching experience required, or a minimum of two years large vehicle commercial passenger driving experience in lieu of dispatching experience.

Bus transportation experience is highly preferred, and you'll be proficient in bus operations policies, procedures, fare structure, routes, and schedules. You'll also have the ability to work unusual hours, split shifts, weekends, and holidays, and due to industry demands, you may be required to work/cover shift(s), stay late, or start early on short notice.

We're an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates. We're committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills and experience, and we're excited to welcome you to our team
