Job Title: Blood Bank Supervisor

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a highly skilled Blood Bank Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Laboratory Medicine department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Blood Bank and related human resource management and customer service areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Blood Bank and related human resource management and customer service areas.
  • Work collaboratively with BB Physicians/Medical Director, patient care staff/clinicians, reference labs, and other business partners to optimize Blood Banking practice while maintaining accreditation and licensure.
  • Develop and implement personnel goals, tasks, and service standards to promote high morale and motivation within the Blood Bank.
  • Maintain training files for staff members and conduct training and competency evaluations.
  • Coordinate and supervise personnel and technical operations of the Blood Bank on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure that technical procedures are performed according to SOP under the highest standards of quality in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve new or revised documents, processes, and test methods and their validations.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain the SOP Manual.
  • Assess the impact of events on systems or processes as they affect product safety, efficacy, purity, identity, and potency.
  • Supervise serious adverse events and event reporting.
  • Implement corrective action within the scope of event investigation.
  • Guarantee compliance with local, state, and federal accrediting and regulatory organizations regarding blood component manufacturing, patient sample testing, and OSHA, FDA, NYSDOH, Joint Commission, CLIA, etc.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences required.
  • 6+ years of proven experience required.
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required.
  • ASCP preferred.
Working Conditions:

3:00p-11:00p; on-call approximately every 4 weeks. 100% Onsite.

Report to:

Manager, Laboratory Medicine - Blood Bank. Location: 327 E 64th Street in NYC.

Pay Range:

$120,200.00-$192,300.00.
