Director of Information Security

State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our information security program. As Director of Information Security, you will be responsible for building and guiding a talented team, shaping cutting-edge policies, and collaborating closely with our Chief Risk Officer to create a robust information security program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive information security strategies to protect SDFCU's data and systems.
  • Lead a team of security professionals in incident response, risk mitigation, and security improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies, and adapt our security program accordingly.
  • Communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders and ensure security awareness throughout the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in information security, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of information security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly within credit unions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GLBA, PCI-DSS, and NCUA guidelines.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing security incidents and implementing security improvements.
