About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of UX Design - Guest Experience to join our team at Target. As a key member of our Global UX team, you will be responsible for delivering best-in-class digital shopping experiences for our guests by developing frameworks for UX sprints and delivering functional proof of concepts and in-market launches in partnership with product, engineering, and other cross-functional peers and leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement UX design strategies to drive business results and improve guest experiences
  • Lead a small team of UX designers and provide guidance and mentorship to help them grow and develop new skills
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver innovative digital experiences that meet the needs of our guests
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX design and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our digital experiences
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our guests' needs and behaviors to inform design decisions
Requirements
  • 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience); master's degree or postgraduate experience in Design, HCI, or related field a plus
  • 12+ years of experience with user experience design delivering from concept through to execution
  • 5+ years of experience in people leadership with 3+ as a leader of leaders, with demonstrated strength in hiring, leading, and coaching high-performing, cross-geo or remote teams
  • A proven track record of leading a human-centered co-creative design practice in a large enterprise setting using service design and design thinking with an emphasis on prototyping and experimentation
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to deliver industry-leading emerging experiences, high-quality work from concept through execution utilizing design and innovation frameworks
