Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and Test Materials: Inspect and test materials coming from the production machines for visual and physical defects, such as improper cure, binder distribution, and color, registration, dirt, damage, and poor workmanship.
  • Operate Industrial Equipment: Operate various equipment associated with industrial glass manufacturing, including packaging machines.
  • Arrange Materials for Packaging: Arrange materials to be loaded into packaging machines, ensuring proper placement for a quality finished package.
  • Set Up and Adjust Machines: Set up, adjust, and change machines for product runs, ensuring all settings are within parameters for quality packaging.
  • Load Materials: Load bag making poly, strapping, or stretch wrap film in preparation for or during product runs.
  • Perform Re-Bag and Rework: Perform re-bag and rework as needed, removing scrap from the area around the machine.
  • Assist Crew Members: Assist other crew members in starting up the machine, changing machine over from one product to another, and shutting down and cleaning the machine.
  • Assist in Emergencies: Assist other crew members during emergencies, such as fires, jams, wraps, etc.
  • Monitor Wind-Up: Monitor wind-up for winding and securement problems, opening and closing wind-up as needed to clear problems.
  • Train and Develop Personnel: Train and develop other personnel, promoting a dynamic, results-oriented, and fulfilling company culture based on teamwork.
  • Promote Company Culture: Promote Arglass' culture of Flexibility, Efficiency, and Sustainability in all areas of the company.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position
  • Skills: Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic and demanding position, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, ability to quickly learn the operation of employed business systems, ability to analyze complex data and concisely present analysis results, demonstration of continuous improvement processes to improve current systems, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong team-working skills and the ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional team, must be organized and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment, self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly, highly organized, good problem-solving skills, good time management skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, computer literacy, committed to continuous learning
