Job Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a dedicated faculty member to join our team at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Candidates must possess board certification or eligibility in ophthalmology, with a preference for those who have completed fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology. The role encompasses clinical responsibilities, as well as the education and mentorship of residents and medical students. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to both clinical practice and educational initiatives, aligning with the academic and clinical objectives of our institution. Opportunities for leadership and administrative roles may also be available.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical care and treatment for patients.
- Engage in the development and enhancement of clinical and educational programs within the department.
- Ensure adherence to performance standards regarding quality, documentation, and patient satisfaction.
- Foster a professional environment that promotes excellence in medical practice.
- Build collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.
Teaching and Instruction
- Actively participate in the educational activities of the Department of Ophthalmology.
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and conferences.
Qualifications
- MD/DO; Board certified/eligible in ophthalmology; fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology is preferred.
- Assistant Professor: Early career faculty member with relevant postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor: Mid-career faculty member with a minimum of five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent experience.
- Professor: Senior faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable experience.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is full-time, with a commitment of 1.0 FTE. Salary and compensation will be commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to funding availability.
