Compliance and Privacy Specialist

D3 Search is actively recruiting a Compliance and Privacy Specialist for a well-established and highly respected healthcare provider in Los Angeles, CA.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with full-time hours and a fully onsite work model.

The Compliance and Privacy Specialist will serve as a subject-matter expert on compliance and privacy topics, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to the hospital on compliance and privacy issues, including researching and analyzing compliance and privacy issues as they arise.
  • Assisting with conducting annual risk assessments and Work Plan development.
  • Conducting ongoing monitoring and auditing of identified risks and collaborating with stakeholders to implement reasonable controls to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Drafting reports that reflect progress made in addressing assigned Work Plan items.
  • Responding to Compliance Hotline and other reporting mechanisms to respond to compliance and privacy matters.
  • Developing and delivering general and focused compliance and privacy training programs.
  • Promoting an organization culture of compliance, including promoting the anonymous and retaliation-free reporting mechanisms of potential compliance issues.

Requirements include:

  • One or more years' experience in a compliance role within a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of operational and regulatory issues related to healthcare compliance and privacy.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in project management development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with workforce members at all levels.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated investigatory skills, including interviewing people as part of ongoing investigations.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, federal and state patient privacy laws.

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree and certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Privacy Compliance (CHPC), or Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC).

The hourly rate for this position is $32.50, and the salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
