Regulatory Compliance Specialist

As a Regulatory Compliance Counsel, you will play a critical role in helping us navigate the complex regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with domestic and international laws.
Key Responsibilities- Help surface, scope, and drive legal work streams and create processes related to ensuring compliance with domestic and international laws.
- Work cross-functionally to develop and implement privacy-by-design principles.
- Identify applicable laws and regulations, assess compliance vulnerability and risk, provide actionable advice, and develop and implement action plans to mitigate potential risks.
- Assist in the review and assessment of new products, features, and uses of data to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist with maintaining and updating consumer notices, terms of service, and privacy policies.
- Monitor and anticipate developments in the regulatory landscape.
- Create and advise on policies, processes, systems, and internal controls necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to products and data, employment matters, and corporate structure.
- A licensed attorney

- Additional specific experience, education, certificates etc., that will help a candidate to be successful in the role
- This role typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience
- At least 5 years of experience as an attorney advising on regulatory compliance in some or all of the following areas:
- Healthcare (HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare)
- Product compliance for global online services (US, EU, APAC)
- Privacy (CCPA, CPRA, MHMD, GDPR, FTC)
- Consumer protection
Calm uses a geographic pay model that determines salaries based on the location where an employee lives.
For this position, the base pay ranges across Calm's pay tiers is as follows:
$116,978 - $242,600
Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience, and other qualifications.
This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
