Position Summary:

The Cage Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all cash handling operations and ensuring the security of company funds. This role involves setting up patron accounts for credit and check cashing, issuing cashier banks, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring the accuracy of jackpot payouts and the safekeeping of deposits and withdrawals.
  • Monitor cash levels across all Cage locations.
  • Supervise large payouts conducted by cashiers.
  • Recommend changes to policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Document attendance and variances, collaborating with other Cage Supervisors to review employee files and prepare corrective action documentation.
  • Complete daily cash accountability logs and provide performance feedback, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Prepare cashier transfers and ensure all paperwork is accurately completed for all functions, including end-of-shift balancing.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 31 regulations.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance on Cage equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all wagering operations data.
  • Report all incidents or disputes related to patrons, employees, and inter-departmental issues to the Cage/Count Manager.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cash handling experience is essential.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a bank teller or cage role.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

Technical Skills:

Intermediate computer skills are required, including proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with coin and currency counters and other traditional office equipment is also necessary.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The noise level is moderate, and candidates must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must possess good dexterity to handle cash and vouchers, lift and carry up to 15 lbs, and have strong vision skills for close and peripheral vision tasks.
