Occupational Therapist Assistant

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in Houston, Texas.
This is a full-time position, working 8 hour shifts, Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, providing routine occupational therapy treatments to patients, especially activities of daily living.
Responsibilities- Implement occupational therapy treatment programs as described by an Occupational Therapist's written plan of care.
- Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of the OT, modifying treatment only as allowed by the plan of care.
- Communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist, patient/caregiver, and other professional colleagues.
- Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and efficiently.
- May serve as a clinical resource to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- May serve as a Clinical Instructor for OTA interns.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant or an Occupational Therapist program.
- Current license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners license or eligibility.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and walk frequently.
