Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position working 8-hour shifts, Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide routine occupational therapy treatments to patients, focusing on activities of daily living. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients, including activities of daily living, and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and efficiently.
  • Supervise rehabilitation technicians and provide guidance and training as needed.
  • Participate in program development and contribute to the growth and development of the occupational therapy department.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant or an Occupational Therapist program.
  • Current license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners or eligibility.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
