Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and recommend fixed income securities, particularly high yield corporate credits, for investment across Thornburg's fixed income and multi-asset portfolios.
  • Assist in the launch and management of new and existing separately managed accounts (SMA) and completion portfolios that align with broader Thornburg fixed income strategies.
  • Collaborate with various teams within the firm to drive the expansion of Thornburg's SMA platform.
  • Utilize financial, accounting, economic, and analytical skills to identify, assess, and formulate investment arguments based on fundamentals and relative value propositions.
  • Communicate investment recommendations and broader economic, sector, or portfolio insights effectively to the entire team, both in writing and verbally.
  • Continuously monitor individual securities, providing timely and comprehensive updates.
  • Serve in a global generalist capacity, covering responsibilities across various geographies, industries, and asset sectors as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree - required; Advanced degree and/or progress toward CFA - preferred.
  • Experience in analyzing high yield corporate credit such as bonds and bank loans - required; Broad coverage of credits from various industries and geographies - highly preferred.
  • Portfolio management experience - required.
  • Private credit experience - preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a buyside or sellside high yield credit analyst.
  • Strong analytical skills encompassing financial, accounting, economic, and ESG knowledge.
  • Possession of Series 7 & 63 licenses, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
