Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor or designated authority, the role involves ensuring that assigned spaces, buildings, or clusters of facilities are kept in a clean, organized, and secure state. Responsibilities also include outdoor maintenance and general grounds upkeep as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness in classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, offices, and outdoor areas; ensure safety and hygiene by removing debris and waste.
  • Perform polishing and cleaning of various surfaces including woodwork and furniture.
  • Handle floor maintenance tasks such as waxing, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Manage outdoor cleanliness by picking up litter and maintaining landscaped areas.
  • Ensure restrooms are sanitized and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Prepare facilities for meetings and community events as instructed.
  • Engage in landscaping tasks including watering, trimming, and weeding.
  • Operate light maintenance equipment and tools for grounds upkeep.
  • Conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in the security of facilities and the safety of individuals on the premises.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should possess a basic understanding of custodial and grounds maintenance practices, as well as familiarity with health and safety protocols related to these duties. The ability to work collaboratively, follow instructions, and perform physical tasks is essential.

Physical Requirements

This position may require lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods. Candidates should be prepared to work in various weather conditions.

Experience and Education

A combination of relevant experience and training is preferred. Typical qualifications include:

  • One year of experience in grounds maintenance or custodial work.
  • Completion of high school or equivalent education.
License Requirement

Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
