Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the grocery department team to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality products.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  • Monitor and control receiving and unloading of merchandise to ensure accurate billing and pricing.
  • Implement procedures to ensure that all merchandise is properly rotated and faced to maximize sales and turnover.
  • Supervise and train department personnel to perform assignments according to job requirements.
  • Conduct job performance appraisals and evaluations of department personnel on a regular basis.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Requirements and Conditions
  • Minimum educational requirement is a high school education with a college background helpful and preferred.
  • At least one-year experience in the supermarket industry with a comprehensive working knowledge of all aspects of store operations.
  • Food Handlers Certification, Department Manager Training, Sexual Harassment Training, and Forklift Training are required.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency.
  • Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance and accommodate verbal requests from customers.
Work Environment

The work environment includes occasional exposure to temperature extremes in refrigerated coolers and storage areas. The work environment includes occasional exposure to noisy conditions in machine and compressor rooms, although typically, the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
