Audio Visual Operations Supervisor

Under the guidance of the VIBE Manager, the Audio Visual (A/V) Operations Supervisor is responsible for delivering comprehensive technical programming and support for immersive audio visual systems. This role involves overseeing the VIBE A/V Technicians to ensure seamless execution of operations. The A/V Operations Supervisor will play a key role in training staff and act as a management extension for daily VIBE requests. Additionally, this position will support the VIBE Audio Visual Manager in executing atmospheric initiatives, including the rotational sports programming of The 909. In collaboration with the Marketing team, the supervisor will produce motion graphics and video projects that align with branding standards to enhance guest entertainment experiences. The A/V Operations Supervisor will manage daily technical operations and perform first-line maintenance for audio and video entertainment systems, aiming to achieve profitability, guest satisfaction, and compliance objectives. This role also emphasizes fostering a positive work environment, setting high expectations, and providing exemplary leadership to ensure an enjoyable experience for both team members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program, engineer, operate, and set up various A/V equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, video screens, and monitors.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-compliant event execution, supporting the strategic goals of the VIBE Manager and the Entertainment department.
3. Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and programming of AV systems throughout the venue, managing equipment maintenance schedules and inventory systems.
4. Partner with Entertainment leadership to design and implement A/V technology solutions while coaching and training A/V team members.
5. Transport, set up, and operate A/V equipment for various meetings and events, assisting in the procurement of new equipment as necessary.
6. Maintain an inventory of A/V equipment using a centralized asset management database.
7. Collaborate on the development and dissemination of information regarding A/V requirements for events. Stay updated on emerging AV technologies and equipment.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure efficient departmental operations.
Supervisory Duties
Responsible for supervisory functions in accordance with organizational policies and legal standards, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. Develop individual growth plans with succession planning for key roles.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in audio visual technology, including work with projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and displays.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience with digital signage and audio software such as LUCI, Industry Weapon, Crestron, and Resolume is advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of audio, visual, lighting, and digital equipment is essential.
- Advanced technical skills in audio visual technology, computers, and networking are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to cultivate positive professional relationships with internal and external clients.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in A/V equipment such as Crestron and QSC is required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
- Prior experience in leading small teams is preferred.
- May require obtaining and maintaining a gaming license as per the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is necessary.
- Professional certifications in Audio Visual technology or related fields are preferred.
