Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join our team at Koch Fertilizer. As a key member of our maintenance group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continued health and reliability of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration, installation, and preventive maintenance on a variety of instruments, including pressure, temperature, and level devices.
  • Verify and validate Electronic Control Systems, Safety Instrument Systems, and Distributed Control Systems.
  • Manage daily maintenance work-flow activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other instrument software systems.
  • Perform electrical work on installation of new services, troubleshooting, grounding, and repairs.
  • Calibrate, install, and perform preventive maintenance on variable frequency drives, electric motors, motor control centers, and mechanical relay services.
  • Adjust, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems used in indication at our facility.
  • Develop and implement maintenance process improvements and standard work procedures.
  • Travel for training opportunities to different locations.
  • Perform general maintenance work, such as valve replacement, torquing of flanges on piping, and heat exchanger work.
  • Occasionally respond to callouts and work overtime as needed.
  • Perform work in a safe manner that adheres to all regulatory guidelines (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.).
Requirements
  • Experience interpreting electrical drawings, one lines, and Process Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), and loop diagrams.
  • Experience calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and installing instrumentation or electrical equipment.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and push and pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas.
  • Ability to serve as a member of the emergency response team as an emergency responder.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Instrumentation / Electrical degree or certification or related field.
  • Experience in an industrial and/or chemical environment or military equivalent experience.
