Senior Consultant - IT Application Integration - Infosys Consulting
Position Summary:
As a Senior Consultant with a focus on IT Applications, you will spearhead and oversee intricate projects that encompass the assessment, design, and execution of both separation and integration of IT applications, including both ERP and non-ERP systems, whether they are commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or custom-built. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing strategic IT guidance, enhancing operational efficiency, and collaborating with business process and application owners to ensure seamless business operations through effective IT applications. You will partner closely with clients and executive leadership to guarantee the successful implementation of IT infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic IT Oversight:
  • Direct IT application initiatives, ensuring they align with the broader business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Formulate and present strategic roadmaps for IT applications within a workstream, emphasizing standardization, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure robust program governance and business continuity.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in IT applications, leading their integration where beneficial.
Functional Management:
  • Oversee front-office and back-office application solutions.
  • Supervise the analysis, design, and deployment of scalable and resilient IT application solutions, involving COTS or custom applications for at least one functional area.
  • Lead and facilitate Day 1 and Transition Service Agreement (TSA) exit planning for a functional area.
  • Manage projects focused on the separation and integration of applications.
  • Develop strategies for the standardization of business processes and applications.
  • Design solutions for business needs, including enhancing existing ERP and non-ERP applications and selecting new best-in-class COTS packages.
  • Create and manage project plans, identifying risks and issues while formulating mitigation strategies.
  • Recognize project dependencies to ensure critical paths are closely monitored.
  • Oversee testing cycles (System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing) for each project.
  • Manage cutover activities for separation and integration projects.
Integration Management:
  • Develop system landscape diagrams.
  • Establish high-level integration strategies.
  • Oversee integration activities across systems, guiding teams to ensure scalability and adaptability.
  • Ensure comprehensive testing of integrations across systems.
Data Migration Leadership:
  • Lead the development of data migration strategies for master and transactional data elements.
  • Coordinate with business teams to define data migration criteria.
  • Provide leadership for data migration tasks, from mapping to extraction, transformation, and upload.
  • Ensure data reconciliation and sign-off.
Client Engagement:
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, understanding their requirements and delivering tailored IT solutions.
  • Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to client executives clearly and concisely.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding stakeholders through IT transformation initiatives.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and timely achievement of milestones.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
Project Management:
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet objectives and timelines.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success, including uptime, incident resolution time, and cost savings.
Thought Leadership:
  • Collaborate with other service lines to create innovative joint offerings.
  • Share insights through publications and other thought leadership initiatives.
  • Develop methodologies and approaches for client delivery.
  • Assist in creating IT application-related tools and processes.
  • Coach and guide other consultants and participate in performance management processes.
  • Support recruitment and retention of top-tier consultants.
Sales Support:
  • Lead pre-sales and sales activities related to IT application and business transformation for M&A, including proposal development and solution presentations.
  • Develop execution plans, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market and client research.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT applications (ERP and non-ERP) management, with substantial exposure to designing and implementing solutions for business needs.
  • Proven track record in managing complex IT projects.
  • Consulting or client-facing experience is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of one or more functional areas (finance, commercial, supply chain, logistics, planning, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, HR).
  • Experience with ERP or major business application implementations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in application selection and implementation.
  • Experience in application rollout or M&A application separation/integration is beneficial.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Capability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Solid program/project management skills, including client interviewing, process mapping, project planning, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in crafting successful project proposals.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP or application-specific certifications (SAP/Oracle/SFDC, etc.) are desirable but not required.
