We are currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Leader who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical)
  • Over 7 years of engineering experience in the aerospace or defense sectors
  • Previous management experience is essential

FULL DESCRIPTION: The Engineering Leader will be responsible for guiding a team of Project Engineers. This role includes supporting production processes and related tasks, such as developing product test plans, preparing design documentation, and providing assembly instructions for peer and management reviews.

The selected candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain comprehensive manufacturing processes and work instructions for intricate components, ensuring successful transition of customer products to production.
  • Establish, refine, and uphold travelers, work instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for customer contracts.
  • Examine work instructions, process maps, material specifications, customer drawings, and project workflows.
  • Prepare and implement Engineering Change Notices.
  • Design, troubleshoot, and analyze design challenges while deploying new tooling for manufacturing.
  • Support the manufacturing floor for production and research & development prototype assemblies.
  • Design cable assemblies, wire harnesses, connectors, and interconnect components.
  • Evaluate production equipment, tools/fixtures, and assembly lines to ensure safe and efficient operation while minimizing downtime.
  • Prepare and validate manufacturing assembly instructions and routing documentation.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects aimed at enhancing efficiency in cable assembly production.
  • Assist in developing specifications, test plans, and related documentation for product development activities.
  • Create hand drawings and sketches for prototype and production manufacturing methods.
  • Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and wire schematics effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance to production, engineering, and design teams throughout various project stages.
  • This position entails managing all departmental employees, including performance management, hiring, and disciplinary actions.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in designing and manufacturing molded cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electrical connectors.
  • The ability to interpret conceptual parts and assemblies from CAD designs.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing engineering.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing teams focused on Project Engineering and Design Engineering.
  • A broad background in project management.
  • Strong capabilities in managing and planning multiple projects and personnel simultaneously within set deadlines.
  • The ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet priority deadlines.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication in English.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • A minimum of an Industrial/Mechanical or Electrical Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.

Salary Range: $100-130k/year
