Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General seeks a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic critical care environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with respiratory insufficiencies, including asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD, and lung cancer.
  • Direct respiratory caregivers to deliver care and implement patient care plans.
  • Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
  • Educate patients and families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior neonatal/pediatric critical care experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
Physical Requirements

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range. May require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
