Location Overview:

Our Wakefield facility is among the largest production sites within Michael Foods, functioning as a versatile plant capable of producing a wide array of products, from whole pasteurized eggs to liquid, dried, hardboiled eggs, and curds.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation of our facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing all mechanical repairs on plant machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Addressing minor electrical repairs to uphold a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance tasks to avert equipment breakdowns and extend operational lifespan.
  • Working with power transmission systems to support machinery functionality.
  • Understanding and maintaining machine foundations to ensure their proper construction and operation.
  • Managing the installation and removal of various coupling bushings.
  • Implementing preventive maintenance for v-belt drive systems.
  • Working with hydraulic systems and understanding hydraulic flow and measurement units.
  • Identifying and explaining the functions of different types of hydraulic pumps.
  • Adhering to safe work practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain product quality.
  • Reporting any conditions that may compromise food safety or personnel safety to management.
  • Taking personal responsibility for ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to enhance maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to read and comprehend basic instructions and correspondence.
  • Proficient in writing simple correspondence.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and obtain necessary safety training.
  • Competence in reading blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Skilled in the proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid settings.
