Jacobs is seeking a highly skilled Public Outreach and Engagement Specialist to support the delivery and growth of our electric transmission environmental planning portfolio. This role offers opportunities to work on water infrastructure and federal projects, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and project managers across all phases of project execution and delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with multiple projects simultaneously. They will contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify public engagement and outreach needs for client projects, developing Communications and Engagement Plans to meet client standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to clearly communicate project information to stakeholders, using various platforms and channels.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development of outreach materials, ensuring they meet client standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with regulators, local stakeholders, client development teams, and internal Jacobs team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in the setup and coordination of in-person and virtual open house platforms to provide project information and solicit feedback from the public.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, public policy, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in a related field in electric transmission, renewables, offshore wind, or a related power industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, a collaborative approach, and proven consensus-building ability.
  • Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3), Master Certified Public Participation Professional (MCP3), or similar.
