Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator to provide exceptional customer service to patients in our Chevy Chase, MD location. As a Patient Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for greeting patients, checking in/out processes, gathering demographic information, insurance verifications, and taking copayments. You will also be responsible for scheduling and coordinating efficient patient flow through the practice or hospital department assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the initial contact person at the medical practice or hospital department and greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage the intake of patients into the practice, screen for emergent conditions, register, verify, and explain patient responsibility for payment.
  • Perform check in and check out procedures by inputting patient charges and verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Coordinate efficient patient flow through the practice or hospital department assigned.
  • Support organization initiatives related to new technology, clinical programs, and improving the patient experience.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months - 1 year of providing high-quality customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • ICD 9 and 10 Code Experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification.
