Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a crucial role in the execution of the daily operating plan and management of a multi-temperature, technology-driven, highly customer-focused warehouse at Martin-Brower. This position requires a strong leader who can ensure a safe working environment, provide direction and leadership to the Transportation Manager and Warehouse Manager, and execute company processes successfully to ensure 100% compliance and annual performance goals are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Safety: Lead and ensure a safe working environment for all employees in a 24/7 warehouse environment.
  • Team Management: Provide direction and leadership to the Transportation Manager and Warehouse Manager.
  • Process Execution: Execute company processes successfully to ensure 100% compliance and annual performance goals are met or exceeded.
  • Financial Management: Participate in the development of budgets and P&L Statements.
  • Communication: Present at customer and employee meetings.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale, and engagement.
  • Quality Control: Ensure quality standards are achieved for all goods shipped and received.
  • Problem-Solving: Promptly solve problems to the maximum satisfaction of our customers.
  • Committee Participation: Participate in, contribute to, and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safety.
  • Travel: Travel up to 20% for annual meetings or other Distribution Centers as needed.
  • Change Management: Be a champion of change, contribute to the strategic direction of facility initiatives.
  • Relocation: Willingness to relocate throughout the organization for promotional opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Education: College degree in business, finance, economics, or operations-related discipline.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of related industry experience.
  • Skills: Self-motivated and disciplined team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment, sound organizational skills, capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met, exhibit a sense of urgency and focus on results, demonstrate business and financial acumen, experience managing budgets and P&L statements, professional self-presentation skills, ability to interact effectively at all levels, proven track record of developing successful customer/business partnerships, demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively, and respond appropriately, proficient with the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree, Food Distribution experience a plus.
