Position Overview: As a key member of our team, you will oversee and analyze information pertinent to Mechanical and Electrical systems, ensuring project completion on schedule, within budget, and adhering to the highest quality standards as outlined in the contract documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead collaboration among the Turner project team, subcontractors, and consultants to guarantee effective alignment and seamless installation of systems.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive list of contract items, ensuring compliance with project timelines and necessary approvals.
- Engage in schedule update meetings, providing timely information for accurate project scheduling.
- Oversee the processing of Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Manage the project budget, including the assessment and negotiation of change orders while maintaining awareness of subcontractor financial statuses.
- Mentor and supervise Assistant MEP Engineers.
- Co-lead the MEP Coordination Process with the VDC Engineer, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Draft scope of work documents, detailing responsibilities for various trades and temporary operations.
- Collaborate with the MEP Superintendent to address conflicts between mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring alignment with project logistics and schedules.
- Co-manage the overall turnover process, including start-up, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Conduct regular site inspections with MEP staff to confirm adherence to contract documents and approved plans.
- Identify and communicate complex installation requirements to field staff in a timely manner to facilitate effective planning and execution.
- Secure all necessary municipal and agency documentation for temporary operational certificates.
- Develop and implement a quality control plan in collaboration with the MEP Superintendent.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, coupled with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical and electrical systems. Strong technical knowledge of various mechanical and electrical systems is essential, along with business acumen to effectively manage all responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and proficiency in computer applications are required. Demonstrated leadership qualities to foster a high-performing team environment are crucial.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands for this role may include climbing stairs, using construction personnel hoists, and navigating construction sites. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception. The role may also require lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment: This position typically involves working on-site at construction locations, exposing the employee to various environmental conditions, including moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather. Noise levels may range from moderate to very loud.
