Position Summary: The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer plays a critical role in supporting New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN). This includes ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities encompass daily production troubleshooting, inspection and evaluation of both purchased and manufactured components, conducting root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and engaging with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Lead by example, fostering integrity and transparency within the team.
  • Analyze customer specifications and ensure their integration into engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendor processes.
  • Complete customer surveys and self-assessments.
  • Engage in reviews of quotes, purchase orders, and designs.
  • Support new product validation in alignment with internal and customer requirements.
  • Assist in documenting manufacturing procedures to comply with quality management standards.
  • Help develop and maintain inspection criteria and data collection methods.
  • Coordinate Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes.
  • Support inspection teams in their assigned duties.
  • Conduct training for quality inspectors and other personnel as needed.
  • Review and address nonconformance reports.
  • Participate in corrective action initiatives, including investigations and development of preventive measures.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of quality system documentation.
  • Assist in both internal and external audits.
  • Mentor team members to ensure high performance and alignment with company values.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Adhere to the company’s quality, environmental, health, and safety policies.

Qualifications:

  • A strong focus on safety and the ability to foster a safe work environment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100D standards.
  • Understanding of quality engineering principles is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and methods (e.g., Optical Comparator, CMM, calipers).
  • Experience with GD&T interpretation for complex machined parts.
  • Exceptional technical skills, with proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a metal machining manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and sitting, as well as using hands for handling objects and tools. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

While performing job duties, employees may be exposed to moderate noise levels and aluminum particles. Hearing protection may be necessary in specific areas, and safety glasses are required in the manufacturing environment.
