About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. As a critical care nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients in the Surgery Recovery Room.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Surgery Recovery Room, utilizing evidence-based practices and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered care and optimal outcomes.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with a range of medical conditions, including those requiring critical care interventions.
  • Monitor and manage patient pain, ensuring that each patient receives personalized pain management strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and policies.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • At least 1 year of critical care experience, preferably in a surgical or emergency department setting.
