About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in our Surgery Recovery Room, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Surgery Recovery Room, utilizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to assess, diagnose, and treat patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Monitor and manage patient pain, utilizing effective pain management strategies to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing clear and concise information to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA.
  • One year of critical care experience, preferably in a PACU or ICU setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
