Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Automotive Financial Controller to manage all financial functions within our automotive division. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in dealership finance, with a deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and taxation. Strong leadership capabilities and strategic insight are crucial, along with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on process enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial activities of the automotive division, including accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Coordinate the creation of financial statements, reports, special analyses, and informational documents.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
- Lead the budgeting and business planning processes, including the formulation of financial forecasts and analyses.
- Implement and oversee internal controls to guarantee compliance with established legal, regulatory, and company policies.
- Provide strategic financial insights and leadership on decision-making matters impacting the organization.
- Assess and advise on the implications of long-term planning, new program introductions, and regulatory changes.
- Drive initiatives for process improvements to enhance financial operations and efficiency.
- Oversee the calculation and distribution of sales commissions.
- Conduct floor plan reconciliations and fulfill dealership controller responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within the automotive sector.
- Experience as a dealership controller is essential.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various financial software applications.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and strategic planning.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing and motivating teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with floor plan reconciliation is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of managerial finance and business planning.
- Proven ability to drive process enhancements and establish internal controls.
