Miami, United States Crew Life at Sea Full time

Job Overview:

The Broadcast Operations Specialist is entrusted with the management and maintenance of all broadcasting equipment utilized within the Broadcast Center. This role encompasses the responsibility for ensuring that all equipment is securely stored and properly maintained when not in use.

It is imperative that all broadcasting tools remain within the Broadcast Center and are not removed unless on official company assignments. The handling of video cameras must adhere strictly to company protocols, ensuring they are not stored in personal spaces or unsecured areas.

The Specialist oversees the full functionality of the Broadcast Center aboard the assigned vessel, collaborating closely with the Cruise Director and/or Entertainment Director to document all guest-inclusive events as outlined in the Freestyle Daily.

Key Responsibilities:

This role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Documenting Theme Nights, Shopping Talks, Gift Shop Tours, Sail Away Parties, Welcome Aboard Introductions, Game Shows, and Officer Profiles.

The Broadcast Operations Specialist is also responsible for producing content for shoreside requests, adhering strictly to the Broadcast Content Approval/Production Policy.

Collaboration with the Communications Officer is essential to ensure the satellite is receiving the correct broadcast feed, maintaining accurate coordinates, and ensuring signal stability.

Daily updates to the information channel (using Scala or PowerPoint) are required, along with scheduling movies for both passengers and crew on the broadcast channels.

When applicable, the Specialist will set up equipment for large screen broadcasts to enhance guest viewing experiences, ensuring setup is completed 30 minutes prior to showtime.

Every quarter, an up-to-date inventory of all Broadcast Center equipment must be submitted to the Technical Supervisor for record-keeping.

Upon contract completion, the Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive handover notes to the incoming Broadcast Technician, Technical Supervisor, and Broadcast Systems Supervisor.

In the event of equipment malfunction or repair needs, the Specialist must promptly notify the Electronics Engineer/Junior, Technical Supervisor, Chief Electrical Engineer, Communications Officer, Cruise Director, and shoreside management.

Attendance at weekly meetings organized by the Technical Supervisor is mandatory.

The Broadcast Operations Specialist is exempt from cruise staff duties unless an emergency arises.

All video productions created during the contract period are the property of the company and cannot be reproduced without explicit permission from the Miami office.

Additional related duties may be assigned as necessary. The omission of specific tasks does not limit the supervisor's ability to assign logically related responsibilities.

Familiarity with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS is required, along with adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
