Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Representative to join our team at Houston Community College. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, while ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer and Transfer Calls: Respond to incoming calls, transfer calls to the appropriate department or individual, and provide clear and concise information to callers.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Greet visitors and callers in a friendly and professional manner, provide information and assistance as needed, and resolve customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manage Front Desk Operations: Maintain accurate records, manage phone lists, and perform other administrative tasks as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the front desk.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and effectively with students, faculty, and staff, both verbally and in writing, to ensure that information is conveyed accurately and efficiently.
  • Work as Part of a Team: Collaborate with other front office staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of front desk operations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One year of related experience required; two years preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in basic computer software and hardware.
