Position Title:

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Overview: A prominent healthcare organization is in search of a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to become a vital part of their research pharmacy team. This department is responsible for the meticulous management of investigational medications utilized in clinical studies, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the process.

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will oversee the procurement, storage, inventory management, dispensing, and application of investigational drugs, adhering to all relevant regulations, FDA standards, and state pharmacy board guidelines.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in the sciences aiming to acquire hands-on clinical experience.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support medical and nursing staff with order processing.
  • Repackaging of pharmaceuticals (e.g., bottles, cartons, boxes).
  • Compliance packaging (e.g., blister packs, unit-dose containers, specialized labeling).
  • Participate in sterile compounding or manufacturing of products intended for human administration.
  • Conduct dose adjustments, which may involve placebo dose modifications and the evaluation of laboratory tests to maintain study blinding.
  • Research protocol-related inquiries utilizing various drug information resources.
  • Collaborate with study teams and sponsors to review protocols and documentation as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • PTCB certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, ideally in a hospital or infusion environment.
  • Experience in compounding (both sterile and non-sterile).
  • Familiarity with FDA inspections and prescription filling processes.

Work Schedule:

Shifts will alternate between 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Currently, weekend shifts are being filled by employees who opt to work them.
