About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join our team at a Large Cancer Center. As a Pharmacy Technician Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter prescription information into our electronic medical record system
  • Contact prescribers to clarify orders and ensure accuracy
  • Determine accurate medication quantities and select proper medication strength and vial size to reduce waste
  • Select and dispense accurate medications, correctly labeling them as needed
  • Handle hazardous and non-hazardous oral, topical, and parenteral medications with care
  • Prepare medications for delivery and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Organize and maintain medication and supply inventories, performing inventory control duties as needed
  • Ensure medications are stored properly and in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Resolve insurance issues and assist with prior authorizations
  • Aid patients with financial assistance programs and provide excellent customer service
  • Responsible for accurate EMR documentation and communication with staff
  • Follow Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice
