About the Role:

The Medication Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our participants. This includes ordering, receiving, storage, distribution, and discontinuation of medications, as well as maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process medication orders for all participants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy protocol and state/federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy and relevant Senior Community Care departments to maintain participant medication schedules.
  • Reconcile medications during transition periods, such as LTC/Hospital/ALF discharge.
  • Communicate with PACE and community-based providers regarding medication orders, clarifications, and pharmacy recommendations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.
  • Valid driver's license and means of transportation.
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
  • Active and up-to-date certification in CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competent in VOANS SSC Emergency Medical Procedures.
  • Completion of a state-approved training program in medication administration with certificate received.
