Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Specialist within the Shared Services team is accountable to the Accounts Receivable Manager. Key responsibilities encompass the preparation of client invoices, application of cash receipts, reconciliation of payments, management of refund inquiries, and data entry of essential client information. This role also includes providing customer service support and handling collections across various brands. Proficiency in Excel reporting is necessary, along with involvement in critical month-end activities. The position may require cross-training and management of additional projects as directed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain customer records accurately
  • Generate and distribute customer invoices and statements
  • Establish and nurture customer relationships
  • Identify and rectify billing discrepancies
  • Conduct daily cash management tasks, including bank deposit recording, cash receipt log updates, and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger for multiple brands
  • Investigate and resolve cash exceptions or returns
  • Ensure accounts receivable records are current, with aging reports updated, credits and collections applied, uncollectible amounts accounted for, and miscellaneous discrepancies resolved
  • Process refund requests for franchisees and members in good standing
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivable by reaching out to clients via various communication methods
  • Implement process improvements and maintain documentation
  • Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years in general accounting, with a preference for collections experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with general accounting software is required; familiarity with QuickBooks and NetSuite is advantageous
