Job Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will assess and treat patients with both acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. Your role is crucial within the healthcare team, requiring a thorough understanding of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and the necessary procedures for effective patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by a physician under the supervision of the RT Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Administer medical gases, conduct aerosol therapy, and analyze blood specimens.
- Operate and maintain respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, provide mechanical ventilation, and assist in resuscitation efforts.
- Educate patients on their treatment plans and monitor their responses to therapy.
- Document patient care activities and maintain safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care and possess entry-level certification.
- Valid state license for Respiratory Therapy.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care.
