Community Engagement Specialist Job Overview

Reports To: Assistant Program Manager

Location: Various locations in Brooklyn, NY

Position Summary: We are in search of a dedicated Community Engagement Specialist to act as a liaison for our initiative and foster relationships within the local community to enhance public safety and cooperation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main representative of the initiative to the local neighborhood, precinct, and surrounding areas.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and municipal authorities.
  • Organize themed weekends focused on enhancing public safety.
  • Develop and manage events aimed at engaging youth.
  • Participate in various community meetings and discussions.
  • Identify and connect with new community groups and potential funding sources.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by teenagers and young adults in the community.
  • Experience working with families impacted by gun violence.

Compensation: $52,000-$55,000 annually

Employment Status: Full-time, with benefits included
