Reports To: Assistant Program Manager
Location: Various locations in Brooklyn, NY
Position Summary: We are in search of a dedicated Community Engagement Specialist to act as a liaison for our initiative and foster relationships within the local community to enhance public safety and cooperation.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the main representative of the initiative to the local neighborhood, precinct, and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate with community organizations and municipal authorities.
- Organize themed weekends focused on enhancing public safety.
- Develop and manage events aimed at engaging youth.
- Participate in various community meetings and discussions.
- Identify and connect with new community groups and potential funding sources.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent qualifications.
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by teenagers and young adults in the community.
- Experience working with families impacted by gun violence.
Compensation: $52,000-$55,000 annually
Employment Status: Full-time, with benefits included
