Position Overview:

The Production Chemical Specialist plays a crucial role in the formulation and production processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while optimizing productivity and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage inventory levels and engage in regular cycle counts.
  2. Accurately measure and mix raw materials, including dyes, resins, and solvents, following established formulas.
  3. Receive training in logistics and operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  4. Assess and communicate the availability of essential materials to meet production timelines.
  5. Ensure timely return of surplus materials to the storage area.
  6. Report any shortages of materials to management and maintain accountability for material usage.
  7. Adhere to safety standards and protocols in designated areas.
  8. Handle hazardous materials and waste in compliance with regulations.
  9. Assist in spill management under the guidance of safety personnel.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, supporting safety initiatives.
  11. Understand and apply best practices for handling potentially hazardous substances.
  12. Adapt to evolving work requirements to support team objectives.
  13. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure product quality and report any discrepancies.
  14. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures diligently.
  15. Participate in safety committee activities and relevant training sessions.
  16. Be flexible with work hours, including overtime and shift changes as necessary.
  17. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  18. Coordinate material shipments to other facilities.
  19. Prepare documentation for various shipping methods.
  20. Utilize SAP for managing shipments.
  21. Schedule transportation for material pickups.
  22. Assist with quality control issues related to shipping.
  23. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

Successful completion of vision and hearing assessments, along with pulmonary function and respirator fit tests is required. Candidates must be capable of wearing a respirator correctly.

Physical requirements include frequent lifting and moving of materials, bending, stretching, and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Proficiency in operating computers and production equipment is necessary, along with the ability to navigate multiple levels within the facility.

A valid forklift license and state-issued driver's license are required.
