Position Overview:
The Interventional Radiology Specialist is responsible for conducting medical imaging procedures under the supervision of a physician.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, your expertise will encompass the following:
1. Acquire, manipulate, and process advanced imaging and radiographic visuals utilizing Interventional Radiology apparatus.
2. Engage with patients to secure informed consent, gather relevant clinical history, and ensure the highest quality outcomes.
3. Collaborate with Radiologists, referring medical professionals, and fellow technologists to determine procedural protocols.
4. Assist in the orchestration of patient care initiatives.
5. Prepare appropriate surgical trays and execute scrub procedures with a comprehensive understanding of sterile practices.
6. Administer IV contrast injections, initiate IVs, and monitor patients under conscious sedation in accordance with hospital regulations.
7. Uphold compliance with relevant regulatory standards and requirements.
8. Exhibit age-specific care competencies as defined by the patient demographic served.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an AMA-accredited radiologic technology program.
- Current ARRT (R) certification.
- Proven knowledge of cross-sectional and vascular anatomy, along with the ability to identify normal and abnormal variants.
- Understanding of radiation safety protocols.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within two months of employment.
- Current ACLS certification or the ability to secure within six months of employment.
- Current RTRCV certification or the ability to obtain.
- Current VIR certification or the ability to acquire within twenty-four months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a staff technologist.
- A minimum of one year of experience in vascular/interventional imaging.
Physical Demands:
The role requires capabilities such as carrying, climbing, crawling, hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling, pushing, seeing, speaking, squatting, kneeling, standing, and walking.
