Your Impact:
In this position, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals facing substance use challenges, often alongside co-occurring conditions. You will enhance your skills in compassionate care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation within a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. This role offers the chance to guide individuals from despair to a renewed sense of value and hope for a better future.
Key Qualifications:
- Availability for full-time flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends.
- Experience in direct service within substance use, mental health, or human services.
- Background in a residential treatment environment.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment methodologies and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
- Ability to manage emergencies and de-escalate crises; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule of day and night shifts.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and report writing.
Responsibilities:
Client Monitoring and Support:
- Ensure clients participate in scheduled activities, including individual and group sessions, medical appointments, and assigned tasks.
- Administer medication following established protocols and maintain accurate logs.
- Provide timely Med Alerts as necessary.
- Update the Daily Shift Log at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Conduct daily medication inventory checks and document any discrepancies.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations professionally.
- Engage clients in daily living skills and group activities.
- Orient new clients to the treatment program and conduct inventory checks.
- Perform regular client counts and room inspections in accordance with program policies.
- Supervise visitors during designated hours.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure safety and security.
- Report any unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to management.
- Monitor clients to ensure appropriate supervision and awareness of activities.
- Complete shift change duties, including summarizing previous shifts and assisting with documentation.
- Provide reception coverage and information to callers and clients.
- Document client incidents and complaints in accordance with HSI policies.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks as required.
Additional Requirements:
- Associate Degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent experience in substance use and mental health.
- Basic understanding of substance use issues.
- Competency in technology use.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification is desirable.
- Background and drug testing are mandatory upon hire.
