Client Support Specialist for Substance Abuse Treatment

Job Summary

Horizon Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and skilled Client Support Monitor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor clients' scheduled activities and attendance in individual and group sessions, doctors' appointments, and assigned chores, coordinating with Clinical as needed.
  • Ensure clients take medications by following medication distribution protocol and accurately filling out the med log.
  • Utilize techniques to de-escalate situations in an appropriate, professional, and client-focused manner.
  • Perform hourly client counts, room inspections, and search clients' belongings following program policies, facilitating UAs as needed.
  • Conduct orientation of new clients to the treatment program, including resident handbook and inventory of belongings.
  • Answer phones and provide reception coverage to furnish information and/or referrals to callers, clients, and potential clients.
  • Follow HSI policies and document clients' incidents and complaints.
  • Perform data entry and office tasks as needed.
  • Perform shift change duties, including summarizing previous shift, communicating necessary issues, and assisting counselors with documentation as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Credentials with CAADE, CCAPP, or other AOD registration or certification required; we will support you in getting registered, which must occur within 30 days of hire.
  • Able to handle emergency situations and de-escalate clients in crisis; CPR/First-aid training.
  • Flexible schedule: must be willing to work days and nights on a rotating basis as needed.
  • Must show a demonstrated knowledge of computers, including but not limited to, data input, internet navigation, Microsoft Word, etc. Ability to write clear narrative reports and progress notes.

Salary: $21.52. Available for a full-time position.
