Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and uphold pertinent regulations, policies, and state laws to ensure juvenile management and community safety.
  • Accompany juveniles to various locations both within and outside the facilities.
  • Supervise juveniles during work duties, meal times, and recreational activities.
  • Secure facility entrances and screen visitors for safety.
  • Conduct inspections, maintain inventory, and manage key equipment.
  • Patrol designated areas, report any issues, and compile facility reports.
  • Train and handle canines for tracking, search and rescue, security, and contraband detection.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED along with training or experience that meets the standards set by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

Agency Requirements:

Possession of a valid Driver License is mandatory.

Military Salary Increase Incentive:


• 2.5% for one year of active duty service
• 5% for two years of active duty service
• 7.5% for three years of active duty service
• 10% for four or more years of active duty service

This position is open to both internal and external candidates.

This is an unclassified role. The selected candidate will be subject to a reference check and a criminal background investigation.
