Job Title: Developmental Disability ProfessionalJob Summary

Positive Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Developmental Disability Professional to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the services and supports provided to participants, ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement individualized service plans that reflect the unique needs and goals of each participant.
  2. Supervise the delivery of services and ensure that strategies are aligned with the participant's goals and objectives.
  3. Conduct functional assessments to support the formulation of participant plans, including health risk screening, support intensity scale, and functional behavioral analysis.
  4. Supervise high-intensity services that address health and safety risks for participants.
  5. Interview and hire prospective new staff as needed.
  6. Provide leadership, support, and direction to staff through role modeling, communication, and staff meetings.
  7. Assist in coordinating home/facility schedules and handling schedule changes.
  8. Initiate and implement disciplinary actions to correct staff performance as necessary.
  9. Complete written evaluations for staff.
  10. Be familiar with agency, DBHDD, CQL, and DCH standards for residential facilities and ensure their maintenance.
  11. Provide direct supervision of staff according to agency or program policies and procedures.
  12. Complete all required trainings as identified in the DBHDD Community Standards Policies for all employees and DDP.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Healthcare Management, Behavioral Health, Human Services, or related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one year experience working in developmental disability services.
  • Minimum of one year working in an administrative office position.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional, Outlook, and web-based systems.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude.
  • Accurate file keeping.
  • Accurate data entry and ability to meet report deadlines.
